Horsemen's Educational Day set for April 9

Horse owners and enthusiasts will come together Sat., April 9, during Horsemen’s Educational Day at the West Virginia University Animal and Nutritional Sciences Farm in Morgantown. Sponsored by WVU Extension Service, the event will last from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Planned sessions that will consist of both classroom and hands-on instruction include horse health, nutrition and body condition scoring, parasite control, hoof care, manure management, and horse training for all disciplines.

Speakers for the event include Winnie Masset, veterinarian and master farrier from West Virginia Equine Services; Holly Spooner, WVU Extension assistant professor and horse specialist; and Scott Bowridge of the WVU Division of Animal and Nutritional Sciences.
