Alumna takes key WVU post
Following a national search, Barbara Copenhaver Bailey, instructor and loyal alumna of the Davis College, has been named the assistant vice president for West Virginia University’s Student Affairs.
Copenhaver Bailey, a 16-year Student Affairs employee, most recently served as the director of Student Support Services/TRIO program for 12 years. During her tenure, she was instrumental in securing more than $5 million in funding for the McNair Scholars, Student Support Services and Upward Bound TRIO grants.
As the assistant vice president she will oversee Child Development and Family Support Services, The Daily Athenaeum, Student Affairs Assessment Council, Student Affairs Communications, Student Affairs Grant Administration, Student Affairs Web Development, Student Organizations Services including Greek Life and the Student Government Association, Student Support Services, Upward Bound and U-92 Radio Station.
