Noted interior designer to speak May 1
One of the hosts who made HGTV a household name will offer his insights on careers in design to the Morgantown community. Michael Payne, host of HGTV’s “Designing for the Sexes,” will speak at 1 p.m. Friday, May 1, at the Metropolitan Theatre in downtown Morgantown.
Payne is a highly successful designer in the Los Angeles area. Since his stint on HGTV, he has been a regular on a number of radio and television programs, offering design insights. He’s the author of “Let’s Ask Michael: 100 Practical Solutions for Interior Design Challenges,” published by McGraw-Hill.
“We’re very excited to host this extraordinary design professional,” said Cindy Beacham, coordinator of WVU’s programs in Interior Design and Design Studies. Beacham and colleagues from many of WVU’s design programs will be on-hand to answer questions about majors and careers in varied design fields.
Payne’s lecture is sponsored by the Division of Design and Merchandising in West Virginia University’s Davis College. The presentation is free and open to the public.
