Students are invited to an information session on a Western Europe Study Trip with an emphasis on natural resources, the environment and agriculture. The session will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, in room 1021 South Agricultural Sciences. The study trip will run from May 18 to 31, 2009.

The trip’s agenda includes exploration of the beaches of Normandy, the gardens of impressionist master Claude Monet, the flowers of the Netherlands and Belgium, a vineyard in France, the Delta Works system of dams in the Netherlands, and several other sites. Sven Verlinden, associate professor of horticulture, will lead the trip.

Students can earn a total of six credits: three in the spring 2009 semester which count towards Objective 8 (Western Culture) of the General Education Curriculum, and three in the summer 2009 semester. Cost for the trip is $2,900.
