Visiting scholar to speak on trend forecasting
Orietta Pelizzari, a fashion trend forecaster and journalist with clients in Italy, France, Ireland, and the United States, will speak on “The Business of Trend Forecasting” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, in room 316 of Percival Hall on West Virginia University’s Evansdale Campus.
Pelizzari’s company, MATTORI, is a trend development studio based in Milan and Venice that focuses on trend forecasting and creative image research for marketing, technology and communication companies, and she works with students participating in WVU’s Disegno Italia program at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan. She is visiting WVU’s Division of Design and Merchandising, an academic unit in the WVU Davis College that offers majors in Fashion Design and Merchandising, Interior Design and Design Studies.
Her presentation is sponsored by the Fashion Business Association (FBA), an organization that provides students with the opportunity to experience many different aspects surrounding the field.
